Tools for creators
Local design and video workflows for social content and promos.
Coming soonAffordable premium, offline-first software. Local-first; no subscription trap. Culltron Max and Ultra X27 (Ultra X27 generation). Affiliate disclosure.
What this covers
Creators need to design thumbnails, posters and brand assets, cut promo videos and caption them, without uploading raw footage to someone else's server. Studio Max and Video Max do that work on your own machine.
The Culltron tools for this job
Studio Max
A layered design studio for flyers, menus, social posts and brand material. It is an original app, not a clone of Canva or Adobe.
- Text, shapes, lines, polygons and images as movable, resizable layers, each with its own opacity and blend mode.
- 13 original templates and brand kits. Applying a kit saves its palette and font roles into the design.
- Brand preflight that flags text and vector layers that drift from the saved palette or fonts.
- Non-destructive masks (rectangle, ellipse and 3–64-point polygon) with feathering, invert, and add, subtract and intersect operations.
- Non-destructive image adjustments (blur, greyscale, brightness, contrast, saturation, sepia, invert and hue rotation) and source cropping.
- PNG and SVG export that renders the same way as the canvas.
Limits: Arbitrary pixel or colour-based selection and edge-refinement tools are not claimed. Brand preflight produces review findings, not automatic brand approval.
Video Max
A local-first, multi-track video editor.
- A media bin, Program monitor, inspector, caption lanes and timeline that stay usable from a 390 px phone browser up to wide desktop layouts.
- Split, duplicate, delete, mute or lock tracks, and drag and trim clips. The last 50 changes can be undone and redone.
- Rendering to MP4, WebM, MP3 or GIF on your own machine with a compatible ffmpeg installation you supply. Without it, an in-browser WebM render is available for previews.
- Six templates.
- On-device caption search, reflow that wraps captions at 20–60 characters per line, and up to 100 speaker labels.
- Optional local transcription with whisper.cpp, with up to 1,000 characters of custom vocabulary that is never stored.
Limits: Video Max does not include or silently call an automatic translation service. Translations are imported and reviewed. Server-grade rendering is planned for the future.
Who it is for
- YouTubers and podcasters who caption and cut locally
- Small brands that keep designs on their palette and fonts
- Event promoters who make posters and short promos
- Anyone who would rather not upload unreleased footage
How it works
- Each Max app is a separate desktop product built on Culltron's shared, hardened platform.
- Files and records stay in a local folder on your machine, and the core tools work offline.
- A signed licence lease unlocks the paid edition. Ultra X27 adds advanced features that the server enforces.
- When you change a file, the app writes a new copy, often with a checksum receipt, instead of silently overwriting your original.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need ffmpeg?
For MP4, MP3 and GIF output, yes: Video Max renders locally with a compatible ffmpeg you supply. Without it, an in-browser WebM render is available for previews.
Can it transcribe automatically?
Optionally, with a local whisper.cpp installation. Audio stays on your machine.
Does Studio Max have a background-removal or magic-select tool?
No. Masks are geometric (rectangle, ellipse and polygon), with feathering. Pixel or colour-based selection is not claimed.
Are the templates mine to use?
Studio Max ships 13 original Culltron templates and Video Max ships six.
